7x7 Lax for Boys (8, 10,12,14) and Girls ( K/2,3/4, 5/6, 7/8)

Brigade Family,

Our neighboring lacrosse league in Fauquier is holding  7x7 lacrosse games again on September 22, 2018 and have invited our members to participate.  The information is as follows:

Come join us for a FREE day of fast 7v7 fun.

The weather looks great and we are ready to get things rolling again. Please read the information below carefully. We will be moving fast and keeping to the time, so it is VERY important that folks show up on time and ready to go.

We will run 20m games, 15m breaks, and scramble teams every time. (about 4 games)

BOYS - 14,12,10U Players will be on the modified fields.

GIRLS - 7/8,5/6,3/4 Players will also be on modified fields.

BOYS and GIRLS K/2, 8U  - - Players will be running co-ed games, no pads, no contact. We will be playing Speed Lacrosse. All they need to bring is a stick, mouth piece, water. The ball is a softer style ball. Speed Lacrosse is a blast and encourages 'small ball' super fast game play.

WHEN: Saturday September 22nd. 8:30am ALL players check in; Games will start quickly at 9am and end at 11am.

WHERE: At PB Smith ES.  Boys and Girls fields will be separated by assigned areas. Coaches will direct players to the field they need to be on! Not to worry. Drop you player off at the bus loop and as they walk towards the fields, coaches will be telling them where to go.

Quick points:
  • This is FREE
  • It is not a practice - so let's play!
  • Bring your own gear and please wear cleats
  • FYLL will not be providing any gear.
  • Bring water.
  • Bring a pennie (dark/light).
  • We will be wrapping up by 11am.
  • Games will start promptly at 9am - rain or shine.
  • Please make sure to have your players there by 8:30am,  Teams will get scrambled and set to go quickly. The whistle will blow at 9am!!
  • No RSVP needed!
  • All coaches are background checked and approved.
We are inviting coaches and friends from local high schools, Brigade Lacrosse, Battlelax Travel Lacrosse, GoBig Lacrosse, Galaxy Lacrosse and others to attend. Many of our players already play together on travel teams and indoor box lacrosse -  and its a great way to connect and meet others in the lacrosse community. Its awesome scramble play and the kids love it.

BRIGADE FIELD HOCKEY

Brigade Family,

We are pleased to announce that Brigade will be adding girls field hockey to our program.  For those who do not know alot about field hockey, a 2008 New York Times article described it as the following, "World-class field hockey looks like a high-speed blend of soccer, ice hockey and billiards. With 10 field players and a goalkeeper, the positioning and strategy resemble soccer. But players pass and shoot with what looks like a snub-nosed ice hockey stick, striking a ball about the size of a cue ball, across composite turf that runs as true and fast as a pool table’s felt".

We are looking for volunteers to help up develop this program and make it just as successful as our lacrosse program.  If you are interested please contact Buddy Lint at brigadegirlscommish@gmail.com
